Join the SS. Philip and James Pro-Life Group* at this year's March for Life! We will meet for Mass on Friday, January 25th at 8:30 a.m. in the SS. Philip and James Chapel. After Mass, we will take the MARC train to Washington, D.C. for the rally and march. (Train tickets cost $7 each way.) Thursday, January 24, 2013 Join the SS. Philip and James Pro-Life Group* for the Opening Mass of the National Prayer Vigil for Life at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.! We will be meeting at SS. Philip and James Church at 3 p.m. on Thursday, January 24th. If you've never attended this Mass before, it's a great event! It's celebrated at the largest basilica in North America, and it's packed for this Mass! Over 20,000 pilgrims from across the nation gather at this Mass annually on the eve of the March for Life to pray for an end to abortion and a greater respect for all human life. After the Mass, we'll be attending night prayer at the Dominican House of Studies. Philip and James Church is where we're based, and this trip might be of interest to those of you who are specifically called to the pro-life movement! ![]() Week of January 21, 2013 This week begins our inaugural seven-week series of Frassati Suppers, a weekly gathering of young adults consisting of dinner, fellowship, and prayer in homes of fellow Catholic young adults. Each Frassati Supper will begin with dinner and fellowship at 7 p.m. Following the meal, we will pray together and reflect on the scripture readings for the upcoming Sunday's Eucharist. The evening's activities should wrap up by 8:30 p.m. We hope that Frassati Suppers allows the young adults of the Archdiocese of Baltimore to grow in community and love for one another as journey together into the Sacred Heart of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Adore the Lord in the Eucharist with praise and worship. There will also be a talk and opportunities for confession, plus a time of fellowship in the parish hall. Our guest speaker this month will be Brother John Paul, OFM Cap., of the Capuchin Franciscan Friars in Washington, D.C. Parking is available in the parish parking lot on East 28th Street between St. Paul and North Charles Streets, across the street from the Saints Philip and James Rectory. Back by popular demand is our now-annual game night, chili cook-off, and karaoke night! We will gather in the Newman Center, which is at the basement of the SS. Philip and James Rectory; its entrance is in the back of the rectory, down the stairs. See this map of the SS.
