"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink [...] 'Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'" Matthew 25:35, 40 The Baltimore Frassati Fellowship will participate in the summer harvest of First Fruits Farm on Saturday, August 31! First Fruits Farm is a Christian ministry dedicated to feeding the hungry with nutritious, fresh-picked fruits and vegetables. The staff of First Fruits Farm is comprised entirely of volunteers who plant, harvest, and distribute fruit and vegetables on approximately 154 acres in northern Baltimore County, Maryland, the use of which has been donated by several local farm owners committed to First Fruits Farm’s mission of serving needy individuals in our community. Refrigerated trucks from the Mid-Atlantic Gleaning Network and the Maryland Food Bank help transport the harvest to soup kitchens, food banks, and shelters in the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. region. They also deliver directly to a variety of food banks, shelters, and missions. We plan to leave from the parking lot of Saints Philip and James Church (see the map of the parish grounds) at 8:15 a.m. Please join us in serving the Baltimore community! We will likely be harvesting potatoes and/or tomatoes. Please dress expecting to get very dirty, and don't wear sandals! RSVP and invite your friends via our Facebook invitation! For more information, please send an e-mail to service@baltimorefrassati.org.
