God is doing great things, and new things are happening for us! We cannot believe that its been almost two years since the Baltimore Frassati Fellowship was launched in February 2011. So many great things have happened over our time, from intimate times in front of Jesus in the Eucharist at Frassati Night, to building homes with Habitat for Humanity, to praying with the saints at Baltimore's first-ever Vigil of All Saints on All Hallows' Eve.
While it is great to reminisce about all the things God has done, we are even more excited about what He has in store. With that in mind, the Frassati Core Team has spent much of the past few months praying and discussing what direction God is calling to go in the future. In this post, we hope to share with you the fruit of some of that prayer.
First, we have solidified three pillars of the Baltimore Frassati Fellowship: prayer, service, and fellowship. We have also solidified a mission statement: Our goal is to grow young adults in their faith (prayer), send them out (service), and help each other along the way (fellowship).
Second, we are streamlining our events. Our monthly Frassati Night every third Saturday of the month (featuring Eucharistic adoration, praise and worship and a talk) will continue to stay a central event, but now you can also expect a service project or social every month.
Most importantly, we would like to announce the start of Frassati Suppers in January 2013!
We have been listening to the feedback of you all on how you need help in your journey with Christ, and most people have overwhelmingly mentioned the need to grow in their relationships with other young adults. We hope that Frassati Suppers fills this need.
What are Frassati Suppers? Weekly small group meetings for young adults held at a home or apartment of a Catholic young adult. Each meeting will consist of six to 10 other young adults sharing a meal together, praying together, and reflecting on the readings of the upcoming Sunday's Mass.
We are starting modestly, and planning for the first Frassati Suppers session in January 2013 in Hampden, Baltimore, leading up to our Spring 2013 series of Theology on Tap. We are going to call this the Hampden Frassati Family. However, depending on interest, our hope is that we might start many different Frassati Supper families all over the Archdiocese of Baltimore.
If you are interested in something like this, please send an e-mail to email@example.com to get yourself on the list.
We hope that you are as excited about this as we are!
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, pray for us!
